Wednesday Update 19. Well yes, it's Friday. Thing is we spent the whole Wednesday writing for a grant application for the Kordelin Foundation and by the end of the day we were utterly ex-haus-ted... and needed all Thursday to recover.
But anyhow, what we wanted to say now is that the reason we paint together is not just to make some nice paintings, or have exhibitions, or sell work, or get grants, or even collect thumbs up in the fb, all that is very good stuff, but that the fundemental reason that we make paintings together is actually PAINTING TOGETHER. We have no fricking idea what's going to happen when we get together in the studio with some godforsaken brushes and colours. Finding our what happens and what shape it takes is actually the real thrill of the whole business. What drives our working collaboration is simply honoring the mystery of painting by coming with our love for the world, putting our minds and hearts together and just seeing what happens. The rest, just nice extras.
And as long as it goes that way, we know where our North is.
