This week we have started painting for our December show at galleria Valo, at Arktikum museum, in Rovaniemi.
Our new studio
space in Sirkka is a bar restaurant -currently not operating- kindly let
to us to produce some new bigger paintings for our Rovaniemi show, in a
building designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. These new paintings will be
presented at galleria Valo alongside the work of artist,
photographer, friend and neighbour, Juha Tolonen. We envisage this joint
exhibition as a dialogue between painting and photography, with an interest and fascination with the
ever-changing Lappish scenery as a common ground for the artists involved. We are very fond of
Juha's work, so we have been attentively looking at some of his pictures. On the canvas so far just some nice mess.
